Founded in August, 1974, the PARA SA IYO CHOIR ( PSIC ), has been devoted in serving its Parish in San Roque, Mandaluyong City, by singing for mass every Sunday and participating in most of its parish church activities as well as in the religious and civic activities of the other communities, whenever and wherever needed ...while bearing in mind always its motto..."TO SERVE, ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!".

 

In 1975, PSIC played a major role in the presentation of a modern passion play, as part of the "Alay Kapwa Campaign" of San Roque Parish. Through time, the choir also presented concerts at the UP Abelardo Hall in Dilliman, Quezon City; Lourdes School, Mandaluyong; Immaculate Concepcion Parish in Catanauan, Quezon and regularly at its own San Roque Parish for the benefit of the ongoing construction project.

The group was very fortunate to be one of the four chosen choirs that sang for Pope John Paul II during the World Youth Day vigil at Luneta Park ( January, 1995). PSIC also participated in several competitions as well, garnering some awards like the Grand Champion of the San Roque Hymn Composition Contest and 1st Place in the Barangay Chorale Competition, to name a few.

They also actively supported the Magis Deo Marriage Encounter Community, under Fr. Ruben Tanseco, in its activities like marriage encounter weekends in Tagaytay, concerts such as the mini Christmas concert at the residence of the former President of ABS-CBN, Fredie Garcia and the production of their first CD of spiritual and love songs c/o GMA Infinity Music.

PSIC is engrossed in the many apostolate activities of the choir which are: bringing joy by singing to poor families in the spirit of Christmas during this blessed season; singing for the sick, weddings, Rosario Cantatas, Novena masses, Sunday TV masses (ABS-CBN,NBN & IBC) and for other spiritual programs or special events.

Also, PSIC have also been performing in Shopwise, Ayala Alabang for quite some time during Christmas seasons.

Since its founding, 30 years ago, PSIC has been a vibrant organization, dedicated to the execution of quality singing with a varied selection of repertoire, to fit any occasion, be it Christmas songs, liturgical, gospel, classical, popular or folk.

The choir is presently comprised of 20 active members who still sing at mass every Sunday in San Roque Parish Church, Mandaluyong City and they regularly practice at least once a week under the able and artistic direction of Bro. Ronald Bello, composer-arranger, and a member of the world-renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers.

Together, with their new and trained members, PSIC’s 30 years of experience and service strengthens their chain of dedication to music and service to God (such as donating also some of their funds for the construction of San Roque Parish).
